Dear Fellow Artists,

finally I have managed to get this email update out to you! Apologies for the delay in feeding back, it has been a busy few weeks of exhibitions, workshops and networking.

The festival is now really beginning to take shape and the calibre of artists involved is tremendous, exactly what I wanted for the event. There are still quite a few artists who have expressed a strong interest in the festival, but have yet to fully confirm their involvement. Here is the list of PINT selected artists so far, who have confirmed their places at the festival and sent images/statements for inclusion on the websites & in promotional material.

A great response from local venues, some are more suitable than others for the purposes of exhibiting artworks, but so far here are the main participating locations:

There are still plenty of meetings going on with other venues and a possible partnership with a local estate agent with a prospect of utilising empty retail units within the town.

SPONSORSHIP AND FUNDING
I have now set up the PINT Arts Festival Bank account! This means I can now accept the artists membership/inclusion fee of £35.00 - All cheques need to be made payable to 'PINT Arts Festival' and posted to 246 Shobnall Street, Burton-On-Trent, DE14 2HR. The majority of the festivals funding will come through private sector sponsorship and advertising. We already have two confirmed business sponsors - THE CHARTWELL PRACTICE and MARTSONS BREWERY. With discussions ongoing with lots of local businesses. The next stage of the festivals development is to secure more business sponsorship and acquire advertising revenue, please contact me if you know anyone who might be interested either business sponsorship or advertising.

The website - www.pintartsfestival.co.uk - has reached the point, where it needs upgrading to allow for the number of artist's pages to be increased and added functionality to be developed. This can only happen through the investment of a portion of the artist membership/inclusion fee, so it is important that all selected artists get their fees paid as soon as possible. This will allow for the festival to move towards it's full online aims & objectives.

I have forged links with a number of other festival organisations including the now well established Wirksworth Arts Festival and they have been very happy to offer advice and guidance in the development of a successful new arts festival.

IMPORTANT DATES
The proposed festival dates are the 26th October - 4th November 2012 with events running throughout this 10 Day period. Once I have agreed a venue (cost being the issue at the moment) I will also be able to announce the date of a FESTIVAL LAUNCH EVENT. This will hopefully be in April and help to raise the profile of the festival, create some more press coverage and help with private sector net-working.

It is intended that going forward in future years, that there will be more than one PINT event each the year, utilising both Solo & Group exhibitions, Music events and Networking Seminars. I have already forged links with Burton Upon Trent's proposed new 'Washlands Festival & Procession' to be organised and held in the summer of 2013. Part of the proposed plans for this, are for a new visitors centre and art gallery based on Burton's Washlands area of which PINT will be heavily involved.

There are no doubt loads of questions, ideas, thoughts, concerns etc. to be addressed, so please get in touch and I will try and answer these in turn.
